Pocono Trail Crew Getaway: A Karma Yoga Retreat

Plan a getaway retreat at the Himalayan Institute.

Replenish, nurture, and recharge yourself.  Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of our 400-acre campus, evening campfires, hatha yoga, opportunities for wellness treatments, nourishing vegetarian meals in the company of like-minded guests and residents.

Help with outdoor service projects including gardening, trail management, grounds keeping, painting, and pond restoration.

Participants may be asked to do the following depending on service assignment:

• Lift and carry 20–60 lbs.
• Frequently bend, kneel, and reach
• Stand for long periods of time
• Climb ladders
• Serve in outdoor projects
• Must love being outside and serving in nature

The mission of the Himalayan Institute is to inspire and empower all those who wish to reach their full potential. It is a one-of-a-kind, mission-driven organization that is supported by a community of residents as well as seekers who give the best of themselves while working toward a common goal.

This program runs Sunday through Thursday. Project times are Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You will be able to attend daily hatha yoga classes and any programs available to residents. You will also receive a Self-Study Guide that you can use to systematically study hatha, meditation, and yoga philosophy at your own pace, both here and at home when you leave.

Program cost: $200 (includes meals and a shared room with bathrooms down the hall) When available, you can pay for a room upgrade on a cost per night basis.
